Mass Racing has a great reputation for building both historic and modern Ford engines designed to complete at the highest level both on the track and in the Rally environment. Both specs generally require specialist tuning work as the Rally car engines require more torque and the race-track versions ultimate power. So, whether you have a modern Duratec Engine, or a Historic Crossflow Engine Mass has developed a great reputation over the years with rebuilding and developing Ford Engines. Duratec Engines can be tuned to develop around 244 bhp for a fast road application right up to 300 bhp for a track version car. The Ford Rally Car engines developed by Mass Racing are generally requiring higher torque figures as this is the main requirement for this application of racing. Mass Racing also develops and rebuilds Ford Zetec engines, introduced in 2002 mainly for Rally competition developing around 260 bhp.

If you are looking for work on a historic engine like a Lotus Twin Cam, Crossflow or BDA Mass Racing are here to assist with your potential rebuild. The BDA was originally conceived as a belt driven version of Cosworth’s FVA engine. A BDA is based on the Ford Crossflow bottom end with a BDG having an alloy block. In Rally spec we expect to achieve around 260 bhp from a Mass Racing BDA Rally spec engine and around 300 bhp in full race-track spec.

The company also rebuilds Lotus Twin Cam engines to various specs including 1.6-litre with our last one developing 174 bhp in top spec down to about 145 bhp for fast road applications.
