Mass Racing offer a range of engine and transmission services. From carburettor rebuilds and servicing to custom CNC machine work. We have all the specialist equipement needed to undertake cylinder head work, as well as crankshaft grinding, camshaft lobe machining and exhaust & intake valve work.

Weber Carburettor rebuilds

Mass Racing are Weber carburettor specialists. We undertake side-draught and down-draught Weber carburettor servicing, restoration, rebuilding, tuning and setting-up for the best performance in your classic or period race car.

Carburettor rebuilds include our complete rebuild kit: gaskets, o-rings, float needle and seats – and mixture screws when required. All of our Weber DCOE carbs also get new internal return springs. Floats are replaced as needed.

Our Weber carburettors are stripped down and cleaned in an Ultrasonic chemical dip. All passages are flushed and cleaned to insure that there are no obstructions. Carbs are reassembled with all new gaskets and seals, and floats levels are set. We also offer re-jetting and race preparation on the Weber 32/36 Series carburettors.

racing clutches & Flywheels

Mass Racing offer uprated flywheels & clutches for classic and vintage cars for high performance, rally, and road car. Our skilled technicians can refurbished or manufacture clutches and flywheels on-site to meet your specific requirements. Most vintage and classic clutches & flywheels, will have to be refurbished or remanufactured because of the lack of spares avialability. However, we specialise in rare and one-off clutches and flywheels.

We understand that every vintage or classic car may be different, consequently Mass Racing will rebuild or remanufacture the clutch or flywheel for you your particular car – race or road. In addition, we can replace all of the components from the original unit, including pressure plates, release plates and coil springs – providing an expertly finished transmission product.

Cylinder Head Work

Mass Racing is one of the leading UK classic and racing engine specialists. We have amassed decades of experience in performing cyclider head work for various makes and models of road going or racing classic & vintage cars.

Mass produced cylinder heads are usually suboptimal for racing applications due to being designed for maximum durability. Ports can be modified for maximum power, minimum fuel consumption, or a combination of the two, and the power delivery characteristics can be changed to suit a particular vintage or classic car application.

Engine Valve Work

Older engines frequently need their valves reconditioned. Mass Racing can undertake this specialist work for your engine, often known as “valve jobs”.

If your valves are bent or burnt, or they need re-seating or replacing, we have the experience and tools to optimise or rebuild your classic car engine exhaust or intake valves to restore optimal performance.

Crankshaft, Piston & Cylinder Work

Mass Racing is one of the leading UK manufacturers of crankshafts for classic and vintage race & road cars. Crankshafts are often not a straightforward matter and require not just the correct machinery but the skills & expertise to do the job right – your engine depends on it.

Intrinsic to the operation of the crankshaft are the attached piston arms and piston heads – which in turn operate inside the cylinders bores in the block. None of these components can be left to chance and require accuracy in manufacture, tuning and installation. We can perform all necessary cylinder bore, crankshaft and piston related your engine may ever need.
